Welcome to my blog. I made a promise to myself that I would start writing in 2025 again. For me writing helps me figure things out. Trying to explain the complex ideas rolling around in my head keeps them from pinging about randomly – and creates some coherence out of the chaos. Interestingly people have sometimes found my posts on Facebook to be helpful and they want to share publicly. But I don’t want to invite the invective that seems to inevitably follow in comments section because I generally post to seek common ground or acknowledge that we have different viewpoints. The quick trigger fingers and name calling in social media doesn’t invite reflection – and it silences people who might not share your viewpoint. None of us are all knowing and we can be enriched by listening to different perspectives. So I will moderate comments rigorously – not for disagreement – I invite that – but for respect of other people.

I have been dithering and trying to decide where to begin. I finally decided I just needed to start. We are somewhere in the middle of many stories right now. So I am going to just jump in. If you care to join me on this journey you are welcome. My first real post will be here.
